DShutdown

As the “shutdown” part in its name points out, DShutdown provides support for the shutdown function. But you see, DShutdown provides support for more functions: log off, power off, reboot, stand by, hibernate, lock, wake up, and more. All the functions DShutdown supports are conveniently presented on the left hand side of its interface.

You can perform all these actions on local or remote PCs. Click the “Get PC List” button from the upper right hand corner and you will be presented with all the computers on your network. Select the computer you want and pick a function to run.

Here are some usage examples to better put things in perspective: restart a PC when a certain application terminates; shut down the PC when internet traffic drops below a certain point; put the PC on standby when a timer runs out.

Dimi provided these instructions on how to shut down a remote PC.
Method 1: start DShutdown on your local PC -> select “Server less mode” -> enter the required info in the “Remote User” and “Remote Password” fields.
Method 2: install RDShutdown on the remote PC -> use the RDShutdown Setup Utility to set a password -> start DShutdown on your local PC and enter the password in the “Remote Password” field.
